Detoxify Your Body with a Brown Rice Diet

A 7 day brown rice fast is one of the easiest forms of detoxing for the unpracticed because it gives constant nourishment, detoxes the body in a gentle way (thus producing fewer detox side effects) and doesn’t imply the experience of starvation as a juice detox can.

When you do the brown rice detox diet, you only consume brown rice for 3 to 7 days. You will not have the discomfort of being hungry or developing the jitters. You can season your brown rice with Bragg’s Amino Acids or miso, similar to soy sauce but healthier as it simply contains natural sodium. A small amount of miso paste with ginger powder and garlic powder will spice up your brown rice diet. Other herbs for flavouring are also suitable, but be moderate. For a little metabolism boost, add a little cayenne pepper. You can also use a bit of pure maple syrup or brown rice syrup for a slightly sweet dish. Only do this once a day, if at all.

In order to keep your blood sugar levels stable, eat 5 or 6 small servings of brown rice daily. For convenience, you can prepare one or two day’s worth of rice at one time. Learn how to cook brown rice.

Be sure to have at least 3 quarts of water every day. Include herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a wonderful tea, red clover tea will promote detoxification and a laxative tea at night before bed will keep your colon moving.
